Kyndryl Acquires Solvinity to Boost Secure Cloud Services

Kyndryl (NYSE: KD) will acquire Solvinity Group, a Dutch cloud services company specializing in secure managed and hybrid cloud environments. The acquisition, subject to regulatory approvals, aims to strengthen Kyndryl’s capabilities in delivering sovereign and compliant cloud solutions to customers operating highly sensitive workloads across Europe and beyond.

Based in Amsterdam, Solvinity has built a reputation as a trusted provider of secure private and hybrid cloud services for public sector institutions, financial firms, and enterprises with demanding data protection requirements.

The company originated from the merger of Bitbrains and ASP4all in 2014 and rebranded as Solvinity the following year. Its expertise lies in designing and managing cloud infrastructures that meet strict national and international compliance standards, making it a strategic fit for Kyndryl’s expanding focus on secure and sovereign cloud operations.

For Kyndryl, which spun off from IBM in 2021, the acquisition represents a deepening of its data center and cloud modernization strategy at a time when European enterprises are under mounting pressure to balance digital transformation with regulatory compliance. The integration of Solvinity’s infrastructure and security automation capabilities will allow Kyndryl to offer enhanced managed services for mission-critical applications running on both private and hybrid cloud architectures.

Cloud Ops for Regulated Industries

Petra Goude, President of Kyndryl Strategic Markets, said the move underscores the company’s commitment to investing in “mission-critical capabilities” that help organizations modernize while maintaining security and sovereignty. “Kyndryl’s acquisition of Solvinity will enable us to offer customers expanded services in modernizing, innovating, and securing sensitive and complex workloads,” said Goude.

The deal also reflects growing demand from enterprises and government agencies seeking trusted partners to manage AI-enabled and cloud-based workloads within regulated environments.

By combining Kyndryl’s scale in advisory and managed infrastructure with Solvinity’s expertise in secure automation and hybrid cloud platforms, the company aims to position itself as a leader in next-generation cloud operations for regulated industries.

While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, Kyndryl said the acquisition will broaden its European footprint and enhance its ability to deliver localized, compliant cloud services to clients navigating evolving data sovereignty laws. The transaction is expected to close following customary regulatory and employee consultations.
